In the framework of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to Tehran, meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian was held.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the President of Iran warm greetings and best regards on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for kind words and conveyed greetings in return to the leadership of Turkmenistan.
Emphasizing the notable intensification of Iranian-Turkmen ties, President underlined the importance of the telephone conversation with the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan that took place on February 10, during which the significant issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields were discussed.
In addition, President Masoud Pezeshkian voiced the commitment of Iran to further constructive work with Turkmenistan in the sphere of energy, transport, water resources and others.
The sides noted the importance of joint events in the framework of International Year of Peace and Trust.
