On 5 November 2024, the 10th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-German Working Group on Economic Cooperation with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B.Atdayev was held in the premises of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The meeting consisted of two sessions. The economic opportunities of Turkmenistan and Germany, the current state of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as various vectors of their development were considered at the first session.
The second session was attended by representatives of German business structures and associations, during which specific issues of cooperation in the areas of investment and financial-banking cooperation, energy, oil and gas, renewable energy, methane emission reduction, environmental protection, water and agriculture, medical industry, transport, logistics and infrastructure, transition to a “green economy”, support for small and medium-sized businesses were discussed. The sides also exchanged views on the possibilities of expanding bilateral mutually beneficial partnership.
At the same time, the sides noted the significance of the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with representatives of business circles of Germany within the framework of the high-level summit in the format “Central Asia – Germany” held in Astana on 17 September of current year.
The implementation of the “Roadmap” on the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as the work done and upcoming tasks set in this regard with the Eastern Committee of German Economy were also discussed at the meeting.
