Turkmenistan and UN Tourism discussed joint plans and projects

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and a delegation led by the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN-Tourism) Zurab Pololikashvili, who arrived to participate in the International Conference “Main directions and potential for tourism development in Turkmenistan”. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of the tourism industry of Turkmenistan in cooperation with UN-Tourism. The directions for implementing joint investment projects in tourism, training tourist guides in cooperation with the UNWTO Academy, providing assistance within the framework of the UNWTO Silk Road Program, cooperation in issues of mutual interest, such as in the field of marketing and communications, are considered.
In addition, of participation of the UNWTO in the work of the Strategic Advisory Council “Turkmenistan-UN”, created on March 8, 2024, as well as participation in the development and implementation of the Turkmenistan Cooperation Program in the field of tourism for 2024-2025.
