The EU Delegation holds consultations on development of journalism in Turkmenistan

On 25-26 August 2022, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan held consultations with representatives of the traditional and new media on the development of journalism and information space in Turkmenistan.

Participants of the consultation discussed current status quo and the importance of the traditional and new media in information dissemination. It was noted that media is used for informative and education purposes, and shall target specific audiences.

The EU Delegation and participants of the consultations discussed modern trends in information dissemination, messaging, promotion of the shared values and peculiarities of working with the target audiences in Turkmenistan.

New trends, including copywriting, emergence of the influencers, digitalization and new ways of information dissemination were in focus. Each participant has also delivered a presentation of his/her work experience, challenges and development perspectives of the working field.
