Turkmen specialists completed MTCP technical courses in 2021

This year, 27 specialists from various government agencies and institutions of Turkmenistan have successfully completed short term training courses under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia.

Alumni of the program were invited to the appreciation gathering at the Embassy of Malaysia in Ashgabat, located at “Berkarar” Business Center.

“We are glad to hear feedback on the program from the MTCP alumni. Within the framework of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, this program aims to share technical experiences and know-how as a contribution to the mutual development of both sides,” says Mr. Khairul Hezry Arifin, Chargé d’affaires of the Malaysian Embassy.

The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) was established in 1980 as Malaysia’s commitment to South-South Cooperation through the sharing of Malaysia’s development experiences and expertise with other developing countries.

MTCP is premised on the principle that the development of a country is dependent on the quality of its human capital and resources. MTCP emphasizes on human resources development mainly through training and capacity-building courses including short-term and long-term courses. To date, more than 35,000 participants from 144 developing countries have benefited from various programs offered under the MTCP, including Turkmenistan.

Annually, Malaysia’s MTCP flagship offers more than 60 technical trainings and capacity-building programs in vast areas of development to developing countries in collaboration with leading local training institutions and international strategic development partners. MTCP also offers scholarships for international students to pursue postgraduate studies at selected Malaysian universities.
