Priority issues of bilateral cooperation discussed in Kabul

Today, on October 31, within the framework of a working visit to Kabul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held several meetings with high-ranking officials of Afghanistan.

During the meetings, the sides exchanged views on political and economic ties, discussed the security situation and humanitarian aid supplies, as well as touched upon on the issue of intensifying the construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line and the railroad from Turkmenistan to some provinces of Afghanistan.

«We want to launch national projects between the two countries as soon as possible, beacause all necessary conditions have been created for their implementation, including security», said Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan.

During the constructive conversations with the Minister of Defense of Afghanistan Mohammad Yaqoob and acting Minister of Internal Affairs Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Afghan side stated that the security of all joint economic projects will be ensured. As is known, the sides support joint projects between the two countries, including the construction of the railroad and the TAPI gas pipeline project, as well as the TAP power transmission line.

«We well spare no effort to ensure the security of infrastructure and economic projects between the two countries», the head of the Afghan Ministry of Defense said.
