There are a few days in the year,when we are able to fully dedicate,celebrate and revel in the magnificence of our planet ,our environment and the plethora of life that exists upon it.Along with this,these days are used as a platform to spread awareness on multiple issues that are harming the environment are causing life forms to suffer unnecessary pain.We should all make it a point to actively participate and create events that will garner empathy ,spread awareness and further promote action in the direction that will help improve and maintain the environment rather than simply taking advantage of it.Some of the important International Commemorative Days Concerning Environment include,Earth Day,World Environment Day,World Vegetarian Day,World Farm Animals Day and World Animal Day.
The international day to commemorate the importance of caring for animals is observed on October 4th every year.The day is a means of drawing attention to animal welfare issues across the globe by encouraging businesses, schools, clubs and others to organise and participate in various World Animal Day events, with the goal of improving the lives of all animals through recognition. The day is very significant in caring, protecting, and spreading awareness of the need to stop the cruelty. It brings people together on the grounds of humanity and an exhibition of love for animals.
World Animal Day is an international day of action to raise the status of animals and improve their welfare, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.Francis of Assisi saw around him with painful eyes about the misery of animals. He understood their plight and wanted to heal their pain. In this regard, he spoke to people about not harming animals. He went around propagating messages of love and care for the welfare of animals.
