Cooperation with the International Road Transport Union

On May 19, 2020, a meeting in the format of a video conference with representatives of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The online meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Finance and Economics, the State Customs Service, the State Transport Agency “Turkmenavtoulaglari”, as well as representatives of the Turkmen Association of International Road Carriers (THADA).

During the meeting, representatives of the International Road Transport Union spoke about the best practices of the countries in overcoming the difficulties encountered with regard to transportation, as well as told about international legal documents regulating such issues.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the IRU in the field of road transport and customs control, also examined issues related to the preliminary declaration of international goods TIR-EPD and the preliminary introduction of electronic documents for the registration of vehicles, goods imported into our country and passing through its territory in transit.
