30th anniversary of independence: 30 million young trees will be planted

The President of Turkmenistan has signed a Resolution prescribing to plant seedlings of deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees, and grape vines in Turkmenistan in 2021. The document stipulates that

ministries, sectorial agencies and Ashgabat city khyakimlik should take necessary steps to encourage and support planting of 10, 000 young trees;

regional khyakimliks should ensure planting of 20, 000 young trees.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection jointly with regional khyakimliks and Ashgabat city khyakimlik are prescribed to allocate planting sites for deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees, and grape vines.

Ministries, sectoral agencies, regional khyakimliks and Ashgabat city khyakimlik are prescribed to ensure the planting of young deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees, and grape vines in the sites seperately allocated for each species, and to use drip irrigation systems to water the plants.

In accordance with the document, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection should amply supply ministries, sectoral agencies, regional khyakimliks and Ashgabat city khyakimlik with grape vine seedlings and three-year-old tree seedlings, while maintaining control of the tree-planting efforts and ensuring proper care for the newly-planted trees.
